Founded in 1985 in Orrington, Maine, the Orrington Rod and Gun Club (ORGC) is a welcoming community for shooting enthusiasts of all levels. Our club features a 12-bench rifle range and a dedicated shooting building, providing a safe and structured environment for both rifle and handgun use. With berms set at 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards, members have plenty of opportunities to refine their marksmanship skills.
To add excitement and camaraderie to your shooting experience, we host several factory rifle matches throughout the year. These events are designed for shooters to compete with their own equipment across multiple rifle classes, ensuring a fair and enjoyable competition. One of our most popular events is the .22 rimfire class, which challenges participants to hit targets at 100 yards. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or new to the sport, you’ll find a supportive community of skilled shooters eager to share advice and tips.
ORGC is also proud to host the International Benchrest Shooters (IBS), attracting precision shooters from around the world. These matches provide an opportunity to meet world record holders, test your skills, and elevate your shooting to new heights. With categories for everything from highly modified firearms to factory models, there’s a place for everyone. For more details, including competition guidelines, visit our Rules page.
